In 1990, NASA launched the Hubble space telescope: an observatory with an unobstructed view of the universe that would forever change our view of the cosmos. Above rain clouds, light pollution, and the distortion of the atmosphere, Hubble documents distant stars and galaxies, as well as our own. We call the galaxy that contains our solar system the Milky Way, describing the glowing band of light seen in the night sky from Earth – a path, of sorts, that takes us outside of the known world.
A redux of the German sportswear leader's 1990s performance runner, the adidas by 032c “Salvation” sneaker takes its lucent, space-age colorway from this hazy route. Its classic silhouette is updated – and lifted up – with an airy foam tongue beneath the laces. It's an ode to the weightlessness of our starry surroundings, grounded by the 032c logo in our signature red: a guiding light to help you land in any surroundings.
